South Harbour View is an ideal base from which to explore the islands of Harris, Lewis, Uist and St. Kilda.  The latter two islands can be done on day trips.  Scalpay is connected to Harris by bridge and is only a 15-minute drive from Tarbert.  With only a 25-minute drive to the beautiful west coast of Harris with its fabulous beaches.

North Harris has a lot to offer, with various hill walks and Golden Eagle spotting, not forgetting Huisnis beach with its popular picnic spots. Scarista is also the home to a nine hole golf course overlooking the beach.  There are a variety of excellent shops selling the famous Harris Tweed, so why not treat yourself to a unique item whilst on the very island where it was produced.
